147 Days “Portugal 5 del Mundo”

Portugal are Team 5 with a FIFA ranking of 5 in the World. 4 previous World Cup appearances with their best effort coming Third in 1966.  Portugal has never won a World Cup or European Championship, their best effort was in Euro Portugal 2004, when they managed to lose the final at home against the Greeks.

When one talks about Portugal you will need to mention the one player that is missing from the above Team picture “Cristiano Ronaldo”. The reason Cristiano is not in the picture is because he was injured. The reason why Cristiano is injured is because a witch doctor was hired to put a curse on Mr Ronaldo.

I have personally interviewed the Dr and this is what he said:

“I’m not anti-Madridista (Real Madrid). I have nothing against this great club. I am a professional and paid very well to use my powers. I have been hired to ensure Cristiano Ronaldo suffers a serious injury. I can’t promise that it will be a serious injury but he’ll certainly be out of action more than playing. The person who hired me is personally acquainted with the famous footballer.”

Now for all you non believers out there, here is a summary of what happened to Ronaldo after the witch doctor cursed him:

Cristiano Ronaldo escaped without injury after his Ferrari sports car hit a roadside barrier in a tunnel near Manchester airport.

Ronaldo's Car

Cristiano has been battling a groin injury and will probably not travel with the Portuguese National Squad to Tallinn for a friendly against Estonia.

The news of Cristiano’s injury was made public after Portugal’s win versus Albania last Saturday.

November 2009 and the reason why Ronaldo is not in the team photo. Ronaldo may face a further three months out if he is forced to have another operation on his injured ankle. Real Madrid have announced that the Portuguese winger has not showed enough improvement to join the first team squad in training and that he has travelled to Amsterdam to see the Dutch ankle specialist Niek van Dijk.

The news comes as a big blow for the player, his club and his country. Real Madrid have struggled without Ronaldo and play Barcelona at the end of the month while Portugal face World Cup qualifying play-off games against Bosnia-Herzegovina on 14 and 18 November.

Portugal are in Group G with Brazil, Korea DPR and The Ivory Coast. The Group of Death in more ways than one.

My Prediction: Last of the Last 16

I’m not a fan of Ronaldo as I rate Eusebio in a higher class, La Pantera de Mozambique.

Could this be what the Witch Doctor is working on next?
